Boy Scouts visit Arts Center

Appalachian Arts Center hosted the Boy Scouts yesterday for the first of 2 workshops that will help them to earn their Webelo "Art Adventure" badges. The boys toured the Arts Center and learned about the many local artists whose work is represented at the Center, and about the wide variety of techniques and mediums these artists use to create their work. They were introduced to recycled art and were shown examples of how "one person's trash is another's treasure." The boys were then encouraged to let their imaginations run wild, and given access to a large selection of materials with which to create these cool, funky, aluminum can creatures. We think they did an amazing job!
