Botanical Zentangle workshop offered

A new workshop, The Secret Garden of Zentangle: Botanicals, will be offered at Appalachian Arts Center on Thursday, July 28th from 5:30-8:30pm. Instructor Kat van Rooyen will teach participants a wide variety of botanical "tangles" or deliberate, repetitive marks that build together to form structured patterns. From this newly acquired vocabulary of tangles, each participant will create their own "secret garden." Zentangle is an easy to learn, relaxing, and fun way to make beautiful images and can be used as "a form of meditation, allowing the creator to enter a state of relaxed focus and creativity, providing an increased sense of personal well-being along with artistic satisfaction.
