Valentine's Day performance

Honey Baby Mine program2.jpg

Appalachian Arts Center is pleased to present Honey Baby Mine, a performance by storyteller Rema Keen and special guests. Together they will weave a beautiful tapestry of love stories and music coming straight from these mountains as part of the upcoming Winter Honey Festival taking place in Richlands, VA during the 2nd week in February 2015.

In the course of the performance you will hear a lovely old ballad, a foot stomping fiddle tune, a Carter Family song, a Jack Tale or two, a sweet family story of love and loss, and maybe even a bear tale thrown in for good measure. You won’t want to miss this intimate and magical production with performers who will warm your heart with their roots inspired performance.

Vincent’s Vineyard of Lebanon, VA will have their wine for sale by the glass and by the bottle both before the show and during intermission, giving audience members an opportunity to come a little early and sample a glass of locally made wine while browsing the galleries and/or while enjoying the performance.

Two performances of Honey Baby Mine are scheduled at Appalachian Arts Center: Thursday evening, February 12th at 7:00pm, and a Saturday matinee at 3:00p.m on Valentine’s Day, February 14th. A limited number of tickets are available for each performance, and are on sale now through Appalachian Arts Center for $10.00 per person. For more information or to purchase tickets, please call the Center at (276)596-9188. Appalachian Arts Center, a part of Southwest Virginia Community College, is located in the “Old Archie Helton Store,” 2.5 miles south of Claypool Hill on Rt. 19.
