Keepers of the Tradition Exhibit and Book

An exhibit of pastel portraits by Leslie Roberts Gregg, with accompanying stories by Michael Abraham, who interviewed each person portrayed. Combining visual and written portrayals of luthiers, herbalists, midwives, farmers, coal miners, country preachers, moonshiners and traditional foresters, this exhibit gives insight into the personalities of the subjects, provides details of particular avocations, and creates a vivid depiction of Appalachian tradition bearers. An accompanying book will be be for sale throughout the exhibit. On Saturday, June 20th at 2:00p.m., Leslie Roberts Gregg and Michael Abraham will give a presentation about their collaboration, answer questions about the project, and be available to sign copies of the book.
