"Taking Flight" Quilt Challenge

FEBRUARY 22-APRIL 6, 2013 Reception on Saturday, February 23rd from 2:00-4:00 p.m. The "Taking Flight" quilt challenge exhibit coincides with the 7th year of operation of the Appalachian Arts Center and is the 3rd quilt challenge the Center has sponsored. Beautiful batik fabrics in shades of lavender, pale gray and rose were selected for the challenge packets and have been incorporated by the entrants in each of the quilts on display.Through their unique interpretations of the theme "Taking Flight", the entrants have created a beautiful exhibition of original quilt designs.

Awards in the amount of $150 for "Best of Show” and $50 for "Novice"will be presented during the February 23rd reception.
